I've been torn over Thanksgiving ever since I started reading about Columbus, er... I mean Cristóbal Colón, back when i was in 6th grade. From that point on, I found myself reading more and more history and with each passing discovery asking myself w just what the hell we were what we were celebrating, and more importantly, why we insist on ignoring indisputable facts and truths to prop up these goofy ass myths.
In fact, if you want a great book about Thanksgiving (fraud) and assorted myths and falsehoods, you gotta read one of my favorite books ever:
Lies My Teacher Told Me is a phenominal book worthy of being read by all. Seriously. Check my book list to the left and you'll find links to Amazon and other places where you can get it.
But that's not the main point of this post.
Point is, Thanksgiving is about home, family and well... eh.. being thankful. It'll take forever to sort thru the other stuff and I'm still working on doing just that. So until then...
Here's what might be the best video of 2008 by a young man called Theory Hazit.
It's all about going home and gettin' some of that good sou food in your gut. Be thankful y'all. Home's a beautiful thing.
